Since 1 September, Portuguese law allows taxi operators to also operate as TVDE providers and certain licensed taxi vehicles to be registered for TVDE services, provided they meet the applicable legal requirements.
The change brings two previously more separate regulatory frameworks closer together, but it does not mean that every taxi can automatically operate as a TVDE vehicle.
Licensing, registration and compliance requirements still apply to each activity.
